Hi, I am just checking as I looked at this some years back. Is there any new methodologies of import or export of game metadata to from Launchbox. My current metadata content is over 10k records across many platforms and I would not be interested in re-entering all this. Therefore I am looking at perhaps CSV/XML import export, or even direct access to the local database.

Hi, Nice that script exists. However its a bit off topic from what I was after. I can pretty easily create directories (VBA from the exported CSV for instance), my problem lies with the metadata export/import. I have some 12k records currently which I have parsed a few times with data cleaning, i.e. corrections, my additions. It is this metadata which I am looking to shift between applications. One of my main gripes with C... is that there is no by formula manipulation - for instance combination of fields by code, or database access, which makes mass updating difficult. Now I can get the metadata out in CSV, so I really don't want to go through the process of importing game titles to a new system, and letting that pull metadata from its connections/databases, then me having to go through it again cleaning and adding my bits.

Thanks for the tip Crush, I will have a look at that software. Been through various incarnations over the years, much like most I would imagine (Excel, Sizimi etc). So would be nice to find one near to what I imagine, otherwise I will end up building my own.

Hi, I am also wondering about support for external data import. Much like teceem's initial post, I have a vast library (and I am talking at least 10k records) over various platforms, varying information, stores etc. I have spent many hours getting this into some sort of shape using the "other" db, so would be very interested in a feature to import that hard work from csv/xml rather than starting again. Actually lauching things doesn't interest me much, just the databasing side.
