  1. I'm having a strange issue here.  I have a platform with games listed that don't have working roms.  So, I'm deleting the games in LB and re-importing the correct roms.  In doing so, the games list goes from about 900 to 500 and afterwards everything looks correct.

However, when I quit LB and start again, all 900 games are back in the platform.  It's happened twice now, as if the database is not saving.  I've done the same procedure with other platforms but this hasn't happened.  Any idea what could be going wrong?

    Thanks,

    R

  2. Has anyone made playlists for favorite/classic games from Sega systems (Master System, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast) or Playstation systems they'd be willing to share?  I'm not very familiar with the systems and would like to pair down my lists.  Many thanks in advance!

  3. Thanks for these instructions!  Unfortunately I can't get it to work.  When I launch it says "the mod is under maintenance"  Not sure what this means as I am not familiar with mods, if it's something I'm doing wrong or it's the wrong version of the mod, etc.  Would be so cool to get this to work. :) Thanks again.

  4. Just recently discovered Launchbox is downloading soundtrack music for many of the games.  How cool!  But I'm having a couple issues getting the options to work.

I'm trying to set it up so, in Bigbox, when I'm on the Games list, it will play the sound from the video, but on the games detail list, it will play the soundtrack music.

I think I have the options set correctly but it isn't working as expected.  I have "prioritize music over video" turned on.  When I toggle "auto-play music in games list", it works.  However, when I toggle "auto-play music in games detail" it doesn't work -- it will only auto play the music from the video.

Also, setting auto-play music for favorites and recently played only works sometimes, but not always.

Am I missing anything?  Thanks again for this awesome feature.

Not sure if it's quite the way you are thinking in your head but you can do this already. Simply create a Platform Category and then for each of the different Nintendo related platforms you have, right click and edit them. Near the bottom you will see a dropdown menu for Category, there you can change it to your "Nintendo" category.

Like above this may not be exactly what you have in your mind but you can do this with the Platform Category like above and you can then tell each playlist to be displayed in the platform category of your choosing like above.

As for your other requests, as far as I am aware of right now they aren't available but are planned for a future release. More customization like the ones you are asking for and sub folders for playlists would indeed be welcomed by myself and many others.

Yes, although I was hoping you could put a platform in TWO categories, so "Nintendo Gameboy" could be in "handheld" AND "Nintendo."

Thanks for the rest of the feedback. :)

  6. Hi, I'm new to LaunchBox and am very impressed!  So far it's about everything I've wanted from a front end.  However, the more I get into organizing a giant ROM collection, I'm finding a few things I wish could be done.

    - Would be great to designate a platform to more than one platform category.  For example, it's good to have "handhelds" separate from "console", but I would also like to group all Nintendo consoles into a platform category called "Nintendo."

    - Would love the ability to hide a ROM from one list but include in a playlist.  For example, I'd like to hide hacked ROMS from NES, but have them displayed in a playlist called "Hacked NES."

    - Add playlist folders so they can be grouped by subject.  For now I'm using the sort-by feature which is nice.

    - Finally, would be great to be able to hide playlists or a platform so I can work on them before they display in Bigbox.

Thanks again for this amazing software!  Love the playlist feature!

  7. Hi, I've downloaded a few playlists from this forum.  (xml files).  However after putting them in the data/playlist folder, LaunchBox does not recognize them.  In fact, the files are deleted when Launchbox is opened.  What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Rich
