  1. Thank you very much for help and advice guys! Seems like my lessons are never easy or cheap lol!
  2. Oh man, I bought one of those infamous pre-configured hard drive setups with hyperspin a few years ago. I realize that's very frowned upon but I have little time to spend or knowledge of emulators or programming. Of course, it broke but I still have the roms. I was very happy to discover Launchbox and bought Big Box. Something weird must've happened to lose my emulator settings and have rocketlauncher become default. I may need to just re-do everything. I don't understand why it's still not working when I change the emulator paths though. Definitely deleting rocketlauncher now.
  3. Here is the pic. Is rocketlauncher supposed to be the default emulator? For example, I tried to change the emulator path for SNES to my snes9x.exe and it warned about changing the default from rocketlauncher. I went ahead and changed the path to snes9x.exe and still got "the file you specified for the emulator path was not found" I don't know that I have rocketlauncher installed anywhere.
  4. The Launchbox/Backups folder. I just tried replacing the XML from the main folder with my oldest backup but still no emulators unless I'm doing it incorrectly.
  5. Thanks for the reply! I have backups going back to 2016. How do I restore those?
  6. Hi all, After updating all my games seem to be ignored by LB. I have my roms on different hard drives as I have so many but hasn't been a problem before. I found an old thread where it was recommended to go to tools. manage platforms then edit the path. I did this with NES and everything is correct but still no games... Quick edit- I just checked tools, manage emulators and there's nothing there but Rocketlauncher. I have several emulators installed.
  7. Well poop... It's OK to start over. I need to refresh my memory with this anyway. Thank you very much for your help!
  8. Been since October or so since I used it. There are several platform xmls in the Platforms folder.
  9. Platforms and Playlists folders and BigBoxSettings, Emulators, Platforms and Settings .xml(s)
  10. Hey that restored Launchbox and Bigbox- thanks! The games seem to be missing though...
  11. Haven't opened Launchbox or Bigbox in awhile. Opened Launchbox then tried to open Bigbox but I received the message that I need to buy license. I did that last year so I copied the license key over into Launchbox folder. Tried opening again and was told update available. Tried to update and received this error: An error occured while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 183 Cannot create a file when that file already exists. So I aborted the update and went to restart Launchbox but the exe is missing. Do I need to just start over with everything? That would suck because I had several emulators set up with tweaks. Advice would be appreciated
  12. Just checking once more before bed and I see where you said (twice) that the systems need to be separated by a semi colon. I used a comma. It all works fine now!! Sorry I didn't catch that before. Thank you very much!!!!
  13. Still just getting 2 or 3 seconds of initializing. Does the bios have to be in Mame somewhere? Gotta hit the bed. Thanks for all the help- love this community! I'll check in the morning to see if you have anymore suggestions.
  14. Well it goes a bit further- The Mame screen pops up and says "initializing" and stays up for a few secs then closes. That's a lot longer than before. I remember reading a post (I think you may have written) where you mention to uncheck "extract rom before running" or similar and I remember doing that as I was importing. What I did definitely changed something bit I still don't have it right.
  15. OK I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks!
  16. Been looking around on the net and can't find the answer. I have Mame set up in Launchbox/BigBox. Currently Arcade is the only system in it. I'm trying to add the Bally Astrocade. I imported the roms, selected Mame and added Bally Astrocade to Associated Platforms then checked Default Emulator leaving Default Command Line Parameters blank. They successfully import then I edit platform to point to my roms which are on a different drive. I double click the game and the initializing screen briefly pops up, disappears and the game won't start. I'm sure it's something simple but it has me stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated as there are several systems I want to use Mame with.
  17. I appreciate the offer and the help. I have to say that this is easily the best forum I've ever been a part of. Very helpful and friendly. Nothing like the Hyperspin forums...ugh!
  18. I may try that once I get a bit more familiar with Retroarch, thanks!
  19. Atari is the only thing I have in Retroarch right now. Using mame, fusion364 for others with no problem with this control panel.
  20. Yeah had more money than sense at the time I bought it I was trying to change the Stella core so all Atari games could be played on the controller board. I will look for a different emulator for Atari.
  21. It only allows Retropad, Retropad with Analog or None.

  23. I have the keys set up properly in the general menu. In the Quick menu when I go to Controls, I can change the inputs but only to what it lets me. For example for Fire it allows A button, etc but no keyboard inputs. I did save core override and the strange thing is that the number pad works for movement but it doesn't transfer through to the joystick.
