The wii remote is a very unique device, not only does it have accelerometers in it, it also relies on another device, the sensor bar, to know where it is in relation to you. To add support for such a device is not trivial at all and honestly not wanted or needed by most Bigbox users. Although as stated there are 3rd party apps that could help you, there is a reason that pretty much only the dolphin emulator supports it, it's unique and difficult.

Fair enough. I think there is currently no demand for such a thing because perhaps  a lot of people do not understand the convenience and versatility of such a setup. It also adds the ability to have some nice NEW real OEM controllers with the release of SNES and NES classic.
I guess I am on my own here for now =P.

  2. Launchbox supports xinput and regular gamepads, and wii remotes are so insanely versatile that adding support for it makes sense to me. Using programs such as joy2key are problematic because in order to play wii games on dolphin, you'd have to exit launchbox, release the controller hooks so as not to conflict with dolphin (I think), and then do the reverse to play another non-dolphin emulator. If you want to do this transition smoothly you'd have to install more bloatware, create  hotkeys, etc.

Unless of course I am entirely wrong about all this, and someone has a wii remote setup that works seamlessly.

Wii remotes work with PC since the Wii came out. Not sure what you're asking.

The only way I've ever gotten it to work outside of dolphin is with third party software, and no other emulator supports it on it's own. Basically I am asking if it's possible for launchbox to map the inputs from the wii remote(s) to a dummy windows gamepad, and it would have to disable when dolphin is open (I think)- as it has it's own wii remote support built in and it would probably have conflicting issues.

There's probably insurmountable problems to accomplish this, basically it would be nice to seamlessly use the wii remote for all emulators and the launchbox menu with no issues, that way when I want to switch out controllers I just plug in a different type of classic controller to the wii remote.

I have always wanted to try wireless things like that may flash one,. But I was always under the impression that once you turned say, player2 off, that it would not save the mapping you had in the emulator because of Windows crap that they can't keep track of controller ids

Damn don't say that! lol You're probably right, but I hope you're wrong. I have the mayflash n64 usb connectors and I never had that issue I don't think. I will let you know after I test them out! (I'm a windows 10 user).

  5. Windows user here, I am trying to go fully wireless (couch very far from television), and I really hate 3rd party controllers as well, I have a young son and when the game tells him to press "A or B or Y" I would like that to correspond physically to a real controller. I have thought about buying a wireless accessory to connect OEM controllers into, and Ebay has lists of old snes and nes controllers, the problem with this is that I am not really guaranteed these old contollers are going to work well anymore.

The solution I have dreamed of is using brand new classic NES and SNES controllers (that also work for wiis) connected to wii remotes. Is it possible to add wii remote connectivity to Launchbox? Meaning launchbox would read the wii remote inputs, and map them to a controller driver that all emulators can read. As far as I know the only emulator that supports wii remotes and accessories is Dolphin.

I know there is third party programs that can do this, but it would be nice to not have to run several programs to run at once.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello, just got launchbox and have been setting it up for several days now, it is so far the best program for my needs, however I have one issue, and I've seen it mentioned before on here on google (and maybe theres a fix for it?).

I have my PC (windows) in the living room, and a television connected via hdmi. I would like to be able to switch big box to either which screen, which I can do through the settings however the emulator always runs in my primary (PC) display. I am not a fan of running extra third party software, but is there a fix for this being worked on? Is it possible to implement a temp fix such as adding a hotkey into the settings applied to controller (WIN+SHIFT arrow)? Thanks

My goal is to be able to easily switch between what display to play games without going into other programs settings, etc. (This setup is for my family that aren't so computer savvy).
