sylandro
Hi, I'm having and issue while using the Import from Steam feature. The first time I used it, it worked fine, and all the games in my library were added without problems. Then, I erase all my Steam games from Launchbox, and when I'm trying to re-import them, I get a message saying that no additional games are found in my Steam library. I've made sure that they are no longer in my Launchbox library, but it seems that the importer still sees them there.
Jason Carr
Hi @sylandro, for the life of me I can't replicate this. Once games are deleted, they re-import just fine for me. Any chance you thought they were deleted but they just exist under a different platform or something? How did you delete the games? If you happened to delete the platform, that doesn't delete the games. That would just mean that the games are still there without an associated platform. sylandro
That's very strange, I deleted the games, not the platform. They don't show up on any search or when I browse categories without any filter. I also searched for my Steam titles inside launchbox.xml and they also don't appear there. Is there any other file or cache that may still contain a reference to my Steam games? The only explanation I can think of is that for some reason something wasn't properly deleted... SentaiBrad
The only other potential reference are the images, but I don't know why that should hold it back from finding them again. You can also clear your image cache. Make a copy of your XML file, then try the import again and see if it finds them with a clean XML. sylandro
Well, this is embarassing! It turns out some time in the past I had set my Steam profile to private, and that was impeding Launchbox from finding my games. You can lock this thread now, as it was all a fault on my side. Though, just to help other users, it could be useful tu print a message that says that your profile is set to private instead of saying that no new games are found... of course only if the Steam API can let you know such information. Thanks!
Jason Carr
Weird, I thought it was doing that. It should show this message if you try to import with a private account: Is that broken for you? Just be nice to get that fixed if there's an issue with it. :)
sylandro
Nope, this the message I get... by the way it happens when I put my profile both on 'private' and 'friends only'.
Jason Carr
Good to know, thanks. Would you mind sharing your Steam ID? Is it private right now?
sylandro
Sure, it's on friends only right now: http://steamcommunity.com/id/sylandro/
Jason Carr
Thank you @sylandro. I figured this out and have this fixed now, thanks for your help. :)
