Mute64
Ok so im very new to launch box, just downloaded the premium version last night and i am setting everything up at the moment. One cool feature i noticed was "select random game" this is great because i have so many dam games :) . Now when i have finished putting everything together for launchbox/big box my build is going to be for the lounge so i would like to have full controller support and selecting a random game is one of the features i really like but i see no way of selecting this with out a mouse. Would it be possible to map it to the controller or make a button that you can select ?
Jason Carr
Hi @Mute64, welcome. You are able to run a random game via the controller, but it's not exactly obvious. On a 360 controller you can press Y to bring up the top menu, then use the arrows to choose items, and press A to select. You might find Big Box Mode better suited for that, though, if you haven't played with it already. It's currently only available in the beta release, so you'll have to enable beta updates under Options. I do still need to add the random game feature to Big Box, though. Mute64
Sweet thank you for the quick response, i will be beta testing my setup this weekend with my flatmate so i can write down some notes/thoughts. I have yet to try Big Box but it sure does look nice. I will download the beta after work and check it out over the weekend. I can probably find this out my self when i get get home from work, but is there a way to use multiple emulators for one console. .. for instance i prefer to use 1964 for playing Perfectdark and Goldeneye/Mods and most other games i use PJ64. Also when i normally run Goldeneye/Perfectdark with 1964 i also use the "frowned upon" mouse injector that keeps PD running at a constant 60fps but it neefs to be launched after the emulator 1964 has been opened. .... now i did have a .bat file setup todo this for when i was using steam as my front-end, would i also be able todo this with LaunchBox? Jason Carr
Yes, you can have more than one emulator per console, no issues there. You can set the emulator per game. That same bat file should work with LaunchBox, though you'll have to set the game up as a regular Windows game instead of an emulated game. Mute64
Sweet, good too know. I would have probably found a solution when i got home from work but its good to know what i need to look for. It all seams pretty simple to setup, launchbox has to be one of the best/simplest frontends i have used, deffently worth the 10bucs and more.
