romefitforbattle
Hello, First off, Launchbox is freaking awesome. I spent 10 days trying to get Hyperspin to work properly, I was almost there and stumbled on LB by accident. 10 days of work only took about 1 hour with LB. I'm planning on buying Big Box but need help first. So here's my issue, right now all of my PS 1 roms are in compressed .rar files that saves a lot of space for me. Rocketlaunch seems to be able to play the games fine by temporarily extracting them first and then loading the .cue or .bin file through Retroarch. My problem is that I need something similar to this with Launchbox to preserve space. The only work around I can think of is if there's a way to get LaunchBox to use Rocketlauncher to extract the games and then load it through Retroarch the way Hyperspin does (phew). If this isn't possible, could someone let me know if there's a different compression I could change my roms to that is supported by Retroarch (Mednafen)? Sorry if this is noobish type question. I've been searching around for awhile and cant find any clear answers. Thanks!
Jason Carr
No worries, @romefitforbattle, welcome! I haven't done much with it myself, but I know there are at least a couple people here on the forums that use RocketLauncher with LaunchBox, so it is certainly possible. I believe you can just set RocketLauncher up as an emulator. Hopefully someone else can chime in with the setup process though. It might be worth searching the forums for RocketLauncher as well. Bil
I use RocketLauncher with Future Pinball so that it automatically loads the table(s). The command line for RocketLauncher is: -f "path\to\LaunchBox.exe" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "systemname" -r So for Future Pinball I have: -f "R:\Frontend\LaunchBox\Pinball\LaunchBox.exe" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "Future Pinball" -r note: The emulator path in LaunchBox should point to the RocketLauncher.exe
romefitforbattle
Thanks for the quick replies. I will try this out as soon as I get home. I never really used command lines before it looks simple enough. I'll let you guys know how it worked out. Thanks again.
romefitforbattle
Thanks Bill that worked out pretty well with just that code you listed. Rocketlauncher gave an error saying it could not find Sony Playstation.xml, but once I put it in the location it was looking for it in everything worked out. Thanks again guys, loving Big Box already.
