I love Big Box mode so much but it makes my OCD twitch so bad that I am thinking on removing all screen shots and just going with a blank and boring black background it defaults too.

Have you thought of submitting a feature request ticket for this? I have made system backgrounds that I place in the Platforms>YOUR SYSTEM HERE>Device folder that would look nice for this feature.
