retrogeek
My main computer is WIN764 and i was super excited to get VR working with the new update. Unfortuanately it didnt work. I have JARVIS install and it works fine so i couldnt wrap my head around it. Then i decided to use a spare HDD and installed WIN1064. Using LB it worked and i was damn impressed. Unfortunately im using WIN7 primarily and it doesnt work at all and has no response whatsoever. Please point me in the right direction. Clueless... Thanks guys. I also notice that in WIN10 that theres a volume/level bar that detects my voice which WIN7 doesnt have. Jason Carr
Hmm, the Windows speech recognition features are installed by default, but it may be possible to turn them off if you install or uninstall things manually. See if you have a Speech Recognition option in Control Panel or any way of configuring speech recognition. I don't have Win7 so I can't check if it's any different from Win10. Also, try enabling Debug Mode in the voice recognition options in LaunchBox and let me know if you get an error when you first load up LaunchBox. retrogeek
okay so i format my computer again with win7 and it actually works this time round. I've notice this error that everytime i say 'launchbox' System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at (SpeechHandler ) at LaunchBox.Voice.SpeechHandler.ReduceVolume() at (SpeechHandler , Object , SpeechRecognizedEventArgs ) at LaunchBox.Voice.SpeechHandler.recognizer_SpeechRecognized(Object sender, SpeechRecognizedEventArgs e) at System.Speech.Recognition.SpeechRecognitionEngine.SpeechRecognizedProxy(Object sender, SpeechRecognizedEventArgs e) and i have to restart LB and not use the VR to use LB properly again. also, i've also learnt that when i installed 'Links - Mark II' another voice recognition app. LB voice recognition stops working completely and i know this as the 'Audio Level' App doesnt load anymore. Using DEBUG however did not show any problems/errors

jadekitten
i dunno about the other part though, with the other voice app, but jason is very very responsive with support so i wouldn't worry too much
Jason Carr
Yes, that is correct. Sorry for the trouble there; I should have a new beta out tomorrow. Per the issue with Links though; I wonder if maybe it disables the Microsoft voice recognition when it's installed?
retrogeek
In the end i opted to WIN10 as WIN7 was becoming too frustrating and wasn't worth keeping. I do have a question if u or anyone else you answer which is i had these REDOCTANE dance mats which 'only' detect in WIN7. Now i have a PS2 to PC adapter which detects the dance mats BUT i cant step on both opposite arrows as it doesnt register the input. The only good thing about WIN7 is that it detects the dance mats as 'buttons' so when stepping on them the can be pressed simultaneously. whereas the adapter registers the dance mats as POV-Hat and you cannot register inputs of left/right or up/down simultaneously. Is there anyway to make/edit a driver file that registers the dance mat as buttons like WIN7 but instead on WIN10? if anyone would be good at this i believe you would be, Jason. I know you got alot of your plate and every update is better than the last. Thanks for your time man. Staying away from WIN7 now as its much easier just to use WIN10. Only draw back is the dance mats not working. Maybe someone else on this forum has experienced this problem. Ive search on good and this is a reoccuring problem but no-one has come up with a solid fix. It was the only reason i was using WIN7. Other than that. LB is still Kickass!
