Lordmonkus
These shots are using the new Vulkan PSX core in Retroarch with the Royale shader at 1440 and 8x internal resolution. View the pics full size to seem them at their best, actually the shots don't do them justice. There is some extra noise in the shots that just is not there while running.
Lordmonkus
It's just the Mednafen Hardware core mednafen_psx_hw_libretro.dll. You need to have a Vulkan capable video card and drivers. Enable the Vulkan video driver in Retroarch and then in the core options enable Vulkan. Here's a shot using the Lottes shader which shows off much better than the Royale shader. For some reason screenshots don't show off Royale as good as it is running live.
madpossum
How's the compatibility of the HW core these days? Last time I used it, it gave me problems with a few games and I ended up going back to ePSX.
Lordmonkus
So far it is fine for me but I only use it for games that have 3D polygonal graphics and still use the software for 2D sprite games which is the bulk of my PS collection. One of the nicer things for the HW core is the PGXP core settings which fixes up some texture alignment and wobble.
madpossum
I'll have to try it again. On a related note, anyone using the Vulcan N64 Core in Retroarch? The only game that worked for me in it was Conker, but then Conker wouldn't work right for me in any other N64 emulator. I'm probably going to set up a separate Retroarch folder just for Vulcan and use it on a per system or even per game basis. Is there anything else in Retroarch that seems to work better with Vulcan over D3D or OpenGL?
Lordmonkus
I haven't tried the Vulkan N64 core but the GLupeN64 core is really good right now.
