Retroarch won't pick up Japanese PS1

Hello.

When I search directory to load all my PS1 games, it only picks up my USA games.

Core:  Beetle PSX
I have scph5500, 5501, 5502 bios.

Games I'm trying to run

- Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus (Japan)  (I have the cue+bin)
- Gradius Gaiden (Japan)   (I have the cue+bin)

Any idea how to fix this to make them work?

Do other Japanese games work ? If no then get another Japan region bios, if yes then try getting another copy of those games that aren't working.

Just tried 2 other Japanese games Rockman X5 (J), Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (J). Didn't work either.

Which Japanese region bios do I need? scph5500?

Shouldn't retroarch at least recognize the Japanese PS1 games from scan directory?

It doesn't matter what they can scan or not, you're using LaunchBox. If the game wont load though, then either the game is a bad rip or the BIOS are bad.

If other Japanese region games aren't loading then you have incorrect bios for that region. They could be named correctly but the check sums don't match and Retroarch can be very picky about the bios files.

It seems it was the games, tried different copies of the games and it worked. Thanks for the help guys.
