CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT
Hi all, For any of you that are savvy in the world of RocketLauncher, I'm wondering a couple of things. I recently decided to add Bezels and Fades through RocketLauncher and I have most systems setup great (thanks for the fantastic Fades @RetroHumanoid!). However, a handful of systems don't work right. All of the Fades are working, but, in some cases, the Bezels won't load or in a couple of cases, the Fades load, but the emulator appears to timeout. Additionally, on some of the Fade screens, I have an extra system logo appearing (screenshot example will be below). I'm hoping someone can help me fix these little issues. Systems with Bezel problems: Atari Jaguar (emulator: Virtual Jaguar) - The Bezel technically loads. After the initial Fade when launching the game, the Bezel is not visible when the emulator starts. However, after exiting the emulator, the Bezel appears for a brief second before the Fade out screen displays. Gamecube/Wii/WiiWare (emulator: Ishiiruka) - After the initial Fade loads, it sits there for several seconds and then RocketLauncher gives an error about using an incorrect emulator. I have also tried using the main Dolphin branch (thought maybe because the AHK module in RL uses "Dolphin" as the filename that was causing the issue, though Ishiiruka still uses "Dolphin" for the EXE filename), but it resulted in the same issue. I have a short video attached that shows the error. The emulator will actually be running in Task Manager, but the game doesn't load up until I change the emulator in LB back to Ishiiruka/Dolphin. PlayStation 2 (emulator: PCSX2) - After the initial Fade loads, it sits there for several seconds and a different error from RL is given. This may be an issue with RL entirely, though, so maybe this one can't be fixed. The emulator and game still open in the background, but without the Bezel. A short video for that is also below. Extra, overlapping console logo problems: Edit: I figured this one out. Under Fade info in RL, I set the Global for Game Info Text to disabled and that fixed it. I had apparently only set this for the Wii U itself, previously. For a fair number of systems, an extra clear logo, console logo appears in the upper left of the Fade screen. It's redundant since the background wallpaper already has the logo on it. I have looked in all of the Media directories in RocketLauncher and in the RockeLauncherUI Media directory, but cannot find where these images are getting pulled from. This was happening for Wii U also, but somehow I managed to get it to go away, but can't recall what the heck I did to do it. Screenshot example below. In any case, I would super appreciate if someone can help me out with these issues. Thank you! Massatomic
first port of call should always be the module notes, it will show if there is any settings that you need to change in order to get it working. Click on the green module tab at the top, select the module you want to interact with and click the double yellow page module notes button, it may be hiding the info your after. I have not played with those particular emus so cant help you to much there, makes sure the version of the emu matches the module version. Hit them up on the forums if they need to be updated..... Now that you pointed that logo out it was annoying me, found the setting to turn it off though, it was pulling them from the launchbox media folder, change the setting I have showing in the picture to disabled, you can do this per system or in global
CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT
I had no idea about that! Still fairly new to RocketLauncher in general. I checked the module's notes and for Virtual Jaguar, I'm on the version of the emulator specified. It does "technically" load the bezel; you just don't see it until the Fade out. I'm going to try a Retroarch core and see if it fares any better. For Dolphin and PCSX2, I am on the latest dev releases, which is newer than what is specified to use, so maybe they need to update the modules for these platforms. I figured out the image issue after I posted this Thanks for the information!
Massatomic
i had issues with bezels and retroarch with retroarch fighting with RL to go full screen, it could be an issue for Virtual Jaguar as well... may be change the full screen options in the emulator and see if it helps. Don't forget to update RL, its in the RocketlauncherUI tab at the top, the little globe icon. Sometimes they push an update to modules to stable. My PSCX2 module shows it should work for 1.5.0 dev-263, I had a look on the pscx2 site and couldn't even find that version....
CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT
I'll take a look at that. I do have Virtual Jaguar configured to open fullscreen. I haven't run into any issues yet for systems I have emulated with RA cores. I'm on that latest PCSX2 version that was released 2 days ago. Pretty sure dev-263 is pretty outdated, but with the frequency that PCSX2 and Dolphin/Ishiiruka get updated, who can keep up? I just finished getting ScummVM working with Fades/Bezels, so I just have Amiga, MSX and Arcade Classics left to go, so I'll circle back to these problem platforms and hopefully find a solution... at least for the fades to work right with PS2/Gamecube/Wii/WiiWare; don't really need Bezels for them, but I generally prefer keeping games at their native aspect ratio, so it'd be nice to have the Bezels for them. Massatomic
msx works easy with RA or blueMSX,. Amiga is a nightmare to say the least! I switched over to the WHQload set and the naming is not supported by lb, so I used the tool that was created in a thread to created the foldernames from an xml so that they import into LB correctly(and scrap). But because it points to an ini file not the rom RL wont load them, it still loads FSUAE and I just have to launch it from the emulator. I have no fix for this at the moment unless I manually go and place each rom in the named folder(don't have that much spare time) There is a great bezel pack on the emumovies ftp, unified bezel pack - mame over 1200 individual bezels for mame games, and the best part is it will load them whether they come from you arcade list or from a playlist! Check out the ftp if you have an account, retrohumoid has some of his stuff on there now to I see
