Kekker_ Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Essentially the title. I downloaded Mesen, and Launchbox won't open it. I've tried default settings, I've tried switching around some command line parameters, no dice. Mesen itself opens just fine by itself and through the command line. I have no idea what's up with Launchbox. Emulator details: I've tried checking "Don't use quotes", "No space before ... ", "Attempt to hide ... ", and "Extract ROM archives ... ". Not all at once, of course. Associated platforms is set up: No AutoHK scripts: And my ROMs are set up to use this emulator: I have no idea what's going on. Any ideas? Quote
Lordmonkus Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Very strange, none of the check boxes need to be checked for Mesen to work. It works fine for me. Here are some shots of my Mesen setup in LB, ignore the fact my exe is called mesen_p.exe, this just makes it store all the files in a portable folder instead the user folder. Quote
Kekker_ Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Weird. Not sure why it wouldn't work. I got puNES working, so I guess I'll just use that for now. Quote
Lordmonkus Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 That's what I would do, puNES is virtually identical when it comes to accuracy as Mesen but has a couple of extra features like custom palettes and support for Retroarch shaders. Quote
Kekker_ Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Yea, I like the shaders. Doesn't have netplay though, and that would be really nice to have. Is there any sort of netplay build for puNES that I could use or nah? Quote
Lordmonkus Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 No netplay in puNES but Retroarch has extremely good netplay and while the accuracy numbers of Mesen and puNES are amazing the 2 main cores (Fceumm and Nestopia) are both very good emulators. Quote
ThaBlkFalcon Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 I know this is an old thread, but for any who may come across this, please check your preferences within Mesen Quote
