donkeyjack
For the playstation core of Mednafen it works. Now, I did everything from putting the bios in the same path, getting better isos and etc. It still doesn't work and it brings to the Saturn system settings where you can delete your memory card files, change the settings, and etc. No video has helped me yet and I think I have a unique problem P.S. I made another Mednafen folder and did everything it worked and then it did the same thing to me the first time. Bringing me into the Saturn system settings. This is very irritating. Lordmonkus
Most likely your disk images are incompatible. Mednafen is much pickier over it's disk image dump quality, look for dumps from Redump or Darkwater.
donkeyjack
It worked shortly before. There something I did wrong. I will show you a screenshot. Hold on

Lordmonkus
If it actually loaded a game once and then the next time it just goes to the bios setup screen that is weird. I have never seen the stand alone version do that at all but the for a long time the Retroarch version did that the first time you loaded any game and after that first load of a game it would be fine. However that issue as since been fixed with the Retroarch version. I'll grab the latest version of Mednafen and see if it does that for me as well. Lordmonkus
I cannot reproduce this problem at all. I loaded up 3 different games multiple times each and each time they just went right into the game, no system setup screen at all, not even the first time I ran it. Have you tried the Retroarch version at all ?
donkeyjack
No, I did not. I can use that on Windows? I just don't want my PSX sav to get deleted it. https://imgur.com/a/2HCfI Edited October 23, 2017 by donkeyjack
Lordmonkus
You can use it and it shouldn't touch any of your fave files, after all they are Saturn games and not PSX and your Retroarch save file location is different from Mednafen. donkeyjack
I still think I did something wrong. Because I was watching your video and SimplyAustin but I think deleted something or I dunno. Because I made another Mednafen folder before creating this thread. Then it actually work and then I put in another game and it went back to that system settings. I dunno what to do. Do you think I should redownload everything? Lordmonkus
If one games works and another doesn't its most likely that the one that doesn't is a dump that Mednafen doesn't like.
donkeyjack
No because the game that worked the first time, doesn't anymore. So, I gotta figure it out.
Lordmonkus
Yeah that is extremely strange and I have never run into that issue at all.

Lordmonkus
Not sure if this is causing your issue at all but it's something that came up doing a search on their forums for a similar issue: https://forum.fobby.net/index.php?t=msg&goto=4878&&srch=saturn+system+screen#msg_4878
donkeyjack
It seems the save file is tied to my old Mednafen for the Playstation core. *Sigh* I really don't feel like starting all over again from scratch. P.S. I found out the problem. One of the Saturn games I have ruins it for other games.
donkeyjack
I found out the problem. With a certain games I can't put the 3Dpad on. Smh. Thanks.
Lordmonkus
Your Playstation save files aren't compatible with a newer version of Mednafen ? You have a bad disk dump and it messes it up for other Saturn games ? That is also very odd though I haven't really used Mednafen for Saturn since it first supported it, I switched to Retroarch once they got their core up and running. Still very odd though cause for those first two weeks of ironing out the learning curve I still never ran into that issue and I had a lot of bad disk dumps. donkeyjack
I have the latest Mednafen currently. It's weird because Panzer Dragoon Saga supports the 3D Control Pad but it won't boot up when I use that for my choice of controller
Lordmonkus
Something is really messing it up for you, what kind of controller are you using ? I just tested Panzer Dragoon Saga using my Xbox 360 controller and controls set to 3dpad and it works perfectly fine.
