Moving Launchbox Root Directory

So - I think I've settled on using Launchbox as my front-end. I don't yet have the machine that I want to run it on full time, but I do have a spare hard drive. I was wondering how portable Launchbox is if I manage to start getting it setup on another machine and migrate it over.

My thought process is to host the games on a network drive isolated from the host system running LaunchBox so I can use the host to do things like picture, data, video caching and then launching the games from a networked source. Is that worth me setting up on a drive ahead of time? Or would it just be better for me to wait until I get the machine setup? I'm pretty tech savvy, but part of the allure of LaunchBox to me was it's ease of use. So I'm hoping this wouldn't negate that. If anyone's tried something similar let me know! Thanks.

Launchbox is extremely portable especially in the way that you wish to set it up. The easiest way to set it up over the network is by using paths directly to the other network computer although using mapped network drives will also work as long as you assign the same letters on the PC that you move it to. I use paths like this on mine \\servername\Emulators\Platform\Games this way I can simply copy my LB install to other machines and they will work after I change the paths to my new emulators on the other computer.
