No longer getting the option to copy files when importing roms?

Hi. Currently running into an issue when trying to import mame roms where I'm not getting the option prompt to copy the roms over or use them in their current location.

I'm seeing this when trying the "import mame arcade full set."  So I end up with all the metadata and game entries for whatever filter options I used when importing, but the actual rom files remain in their original location.

Just wondering if there is a registry key or something  that needs to be deleted in order to get the "copy ROMs" prompt again?

I ask, because I tried just renaming the existing Launchbox directory and installing / importing the roms again in the new install, but am experiencing the same issue.

I suppose I could just manually copy the whole romset directory [MAME 0.197 ROMs (non-merged)] over to launchbox from it's current network share, but that sort of defeats the point of the import filters as I'd then have a directory with every possible region plus all the stuff I had hoped to filter out. Which would probably come back and bite me if I ever scanned for new roms, I'd think.

Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi and welcome to the community. :)

Well to be honest with you the clue is in the name of the wizard, "import MAME Arcade fullset" so yes this is expected behavior. That new wizard is specifically for use with a full romset and will filter based on the options you choose, but will import the fullset of working games. It doesnt copy your roms anymore as it doesnt really matter where they are anymore, it just wants to know your filter options then imports all the metadata for those games to launchbox, as long as mame knows where your games are that is all that matters. If you want to copy the files to the Launchbox folder then just continue to use the old method, which is still there. You will still get all the new MAME metadata that we have now.

Thanks. I guess that's what got me, when the old options to select regions, skip rhythm games etc... stopped appearing from "import rom files" I figured the functionality had been moved over the new "import mame arcade" option. Didn't even notice it hadn't copied the files over until my NAS was rebooting and I discovered the rom files weren't local.

Drive space is cheap, I guess. So long as the right entries are being created in Launchbox, having other countries version in the same directory isn't a big deal.

Appreciate the response.
