Emulate analog joystick with dpad

Hi,

I builded a new arcade successfully, zero delay 8 button dpad used, but, if I want to play some race games or Star Wars Trilogy I need an analog joystick.

Is there a way to emulate an analog joystick?

You can force the digital pad to do the same overall inputs but you won't get the analog controls, it will simply be on or off, no gradual levels of input.
