ok, ive got most of the software set up and ready to go and im going to begin work on the cabinet and i have a question.

ive been thinking about putting a trackball in my cabinet and i was wondering if their was a way to map the trackball to an analog stick in retroarch and dolphin? i only really want to put a trackball in their because i think super monkey ball would be fun with it.

i know this is probably the wrong place to ask this, was just wondering if you guys had some input, if its not feesible/crazy/dumb just let me know, its litterally the only reason i want to put a trackball in my cabinet.

I don't know the answer but you could try to remap your mouse with UCR and after decide to buy or not a trackball. I'm using this app with my control panel to create virtual Xbox controllers. Personally, I don't use so often my trackball and I think a spinner would have been a better decision. All depends what games you want to play.

i only really intend to use it for super monkey ball, and for those not aware the gameplay revolves around tilting the board and rolling the monkeyball to the goal.

im just trying to figure out how i would play this game in a cab since it requires heavily on analog controls, but arcade sticks are only digital and im afraid that if i map the digital sticks to the analog in retro arch/dolphin that when i press any direction on the stick it will be like hold the analog to the max in any direction, which will not work for super monkey ball, needs some kind of analog input.

Have you ever tried Hamsterball?  It is a take off from Marble Madness.  It has been in my cabinet for years as it works very well with a trackball.  I just tried it with Windows 10 and it works there as well.  They offer a free demo so you can try it out.  http://www.raptisoft.com/index.php?game=hamsterball

No, I don't work nor am I affiliated in any way with Raptisoft.
