Gamecube Controller and the button conundrum

I'm a big fan of the gamecube. And I'm a big fan of the gamecube controller as well...

I've set up my cab to use predominently with my arcade stick setup, but some systems (dual analogue) just don't work with the joystick

For the other systems I use Gamecube controllers via the Mayflash adaptor

BUT, there's an issue. The Gamecube contorller lacks an L1, L3 and R3 (analogue press buttons)

So - just wondering if any inventive person has come up with solutions to a) still using a gamecube pad, but b) being able to adequately play systems that require these buttons?
