sasquatch
Just had a hdd failure that had my launchbox installed on. I have all roms backed up so just a case of setting things up again. I had been thinking of changing to an external enclosure to free up storage on my tower and also to make it portable. This seems like the ideal time to make that jump. Do many of you run launchbox from external drives? Are there any downsides? Lag? I was looking at this 4 bay Orico. Thanks DG
DOS76
I have 4 of these they are only USB 3.0 and not USB C like the model you have linked and also they are good enclosures but I wouldn't really want to be moving them around more than necessary so maybe that one you linked would be better for portability. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mediasonic-ProRaid-HFR7-SU3S2-3-5in-Enclosure/dp/B0757YTWS7/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=MediaSonic+4+bay+enclosure&qid=1564432015&s=electronics&sr=1-
DOS76
Also in the future you should keep a copy of your LB data folder on another drive or even in the cloud, this way when (not if) your drive fails you just download that application plop that back into your LB folder and then your setup is back up you just need to grab the media for it again.
