Start directly in specific platform categories

Hi all,

Is there a way to start in specific platform?  I have a dedicated MAME cab and would like to start in this screen

image.thumb.png.25ed78219f3c860feb3d861277ee98e8.png instead of image.thumb.png.e796c15fefd5399d24de3e727db0ee0e.png

I tried view all games but it does not group them by categories ie. 2 Players, 4 Players, etc..

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

To give a little more info.

I tried start on :

  1. playlist (got empty wheel)
  2. platform ( got repeated the yellow "Arcade" logo, and going in all the games together)
  3. platform category ( got the scenario on the initial post, repeated "Arcade with Control Panel" logo, and going in I got the "categories.." I don't know what this screen is named)

I tried all the available  Views in the options  and the only way I can get this view  is by using "platform categories" and entering one more level.

Maybe is because selecting platform categories will first ask you to select a platform (in my case arcade) and then will give you the actual categories. If that is the case it would be nice to either auto detect that there is only one platform and go directly to categories or allow the us to set a default platform to start from.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Old School,

thanks for the suggestion, I tried that before , that is option 2 in my previous post  if I do that I get a wheel with arcade repeated a bunch of times (but the yellow logo) and when I select it, it goes to all the arcade games without the categories. What I want is to start from the categories inside arcade.  I tried all the options there for the default startup and none gave me the category list as a startup screen.

Is probably not smart enough to figure out there is only one platform  hence it displays the "arcade" repeated wheel.

I played around with it a bit more, I guess the screen I want is the playlist scree. the problem is that when I select default startup view : playlist , I get an empty wheel. I went back to LB and edited the 2 player (auto-generated play list ) and there was an option to select  where to display the playlist, I selected root, and it know displays under platform categories default view, but not on they playlist view (could it be a bug)

oh, now I know what you need to do exactly. In Launchbox, Right click on a playlist then check the box that says "include this playlist with platforms"
Do this to every playlist you have (or the ones you want to see in Bigbox)
