Ni9htyKni9ht
Fair disclaimer, I'm brand new to LaunchBox and I'm trying to get it working for the first time and it hasn't been very kind to me. I've searched the forums and can't find anyone with similar issues. I've installed LaunchBox ver 11.12 and right away started to have UI and graphical issues. Screenshots below as examples. The app itself also seems to be running at 30fps or less; very choppy since I'm on a 120hz monitor. I'm guessing there's an issue with display driver settings or possibly compatibility with my processor/chipset since they're fairly new. Thoughts? Systems specs are: Ryzen 9 5900X on Asus X570 Crosshair Hero WiFi; Trident Z 32GB (4x8) 3600mhz CL16; SLI 2x Asus Strix OC 1080ti Any help or guidance would be crazy appreciated
C-Beats
Would assume you have Nahimic running messing with WPF. I know @neil9000 has helped others in the past locate it on users machines, typically it is installed and used by older sound managers. Ni9htyKni9ht
Sorry for the delay in responding. I just ran Windows Update to ensure I had the latest updates and patches installed; no change. I do have Nahimic installed as part of my audio drivers. I just uninstalled from the settings page, rebooted, and no change there either. Any other suggestions? C-Beats
I'm not sure. I would check that you don't have Nahimic listed in the services tab of task manager. I've heard some users in the past have had problems with that service reappearing. I would also suggest updating the video driver if you haven't already. Ni9htyKni9ht
You were correct, Nahimic did not uninstall and stop as a service. It has been properly disabled and barred from ever functioning again. After a reboot, this appears to have fixed the glitches and graphical errors. Thanks! The framerate inside the app did improve, it seems like a consistent 60fps, however it still isn't running at the expected 120fps like the rest of my Windows desktop. Does the LaunchBox interface only run at 60 or is there a setting/method to up the framerate? Again, thanks for the reminder to make sure Nahimic was properly disabled. C-Beats
LaunchBox isn't a game, WPF doesn't clear your GPU buffer at a given tick speed. It's all event driven and only updates the buffers when there is a change in the UI so it's entirely possible (and correct) that you see slower frame numbers. Could be a faster refresh wasn't needed. I know we let you speed up animation speeds/updates inside of Big Box to help make those refreshes happen faster, I'm unsure we do anything like that inside of LaunchBox since most everything is scrolling and not real animations so unsure the same thing work would as well in LaunchBox.
