moudrost
I have v229 imported and been using fine since it came out. I would like to upgrade to v233 and don't see a recommended way to do this. Should I delete the entire Arcade platform and import MAME again fresh (which I had been doing, but normally don't upgrade very often). Or, can I import on top of the existing one and maybe look for removed games? I just want to make sure I'm doing this the smartest way. I can only find tutorials on importing a new set, not dealing with existing sets.

moudrost
Will it have to download any of the existing media from launchbox and/or emumovies?

Not if you uncheck it all in the wizard, you already have 99% of it, you can manually run it after on the new games, that dont have any media yet after the import.
