legolas119
Hi, until now, when i want to update MAME on LB, i followed these steps: 1) Help --> Force Update Game Database Metadata 2) right click on MAME --> Delete (I only delete the Emulator, NOT the media!). Then i manually Delete all the MAME playlist (they will be created again during the full import) 3) full import (not downloading the media as they are already present) 4) I manually move all the MAME playlist under the MAME parent 5) Select all the MAME games (CTRL+A) Tools --> Download metadata and Media (i don't download the existing file, of course) In this way, i can add all the new roms and delete the no longer supported roms But starting from LB 12.7, there is an option named "update MAME". If i choose this option, everything will be automatically updated, media included? And i can avoid to perform all the 5 steps above? If so, is it in any case necessary to perform "Help --> Force Update Game Database Metadata" before to start the update procedure? Thanks! faeran
The Update MAME option refers to the program and not your metadata or media. However, in saying that, if you wish to update your MAME full set ROMs in LaunchBox, you can simply re-run the MAME Arcade Full Set Import wizard, choose to manual configure emulator setup, Edit your MAME emulator to the new one, and import. This should only find any new games and import those. 16 hours ago, legolas119 said: Help --> Force Update Game Database Metadata" before to start the update procedure? This is not ever necessary. This step is always taken automatically during any imports or media/metadata downloads.
legolas119
thanks yes, but i read here in the forum that if i simply perform the FULL IMPORT again, without followig the steps listed above, the import doesn't remove the no longer supported roms...
