curator
Hi. I can't get masks to work at all with the community theme creator. They're set to a black and white image but nothing happens. Any advice? Thanks.
faeran
Are you able to post images on what exactly you are trying to accomplish with the mask? Just note that your image mask needs to be transparent. The black part will be where the image shows, and the transparent part will be where it doesn't. curator
Thanks for replying. I'm trying to get a gradient animation to only affect an area in a rectangle, but the animation also moves the mask.. Can the mask be static somehow? Still unsure of what exactly you are trying to do, so this will be a shot in the dark. You are trying to animate a gradient, which I assume has a bunch of colors on it. Not sure where a mask fits into this scenario, but could you just separate the gradient onto another element that the mask isn't on?
curator
Ok, imagine a black box in the middle of screen. I want a white to gradient to pass through only that box, left to right but I'm unsure how to do it and mask it off. It's probably really simple. faeran
I may be mistaken, but the CTC doesn't currently support gradient animations. Maybe there's another way. What's your end goal with this?
curator
Sorry, I didn't see your reply. Maybe I'm confusing you a bit. Ignore the gradient. Just imagine I have a static image that moves across the screen left to right but I only want it to appear inside that area as it moves through. That's what I thought the mask would do. Put both items inside of a container (like a Grid), and turn on "Clip to Region" on the container.
curator
Thank you. This is it. Even after you told me, it took a long time to find the little switch for clip to region. I had never seen that before.
