Scraping EmuMovies

I am having trouble scraping Atari 800 files from EmuMovies because their files are tagged as “Atari 8-bit” and Launchbox is scraping using the “Atari 800” label. Launchbox just won’t access EmuMovies because of the different naming system or EmuMovies just does not recognise “Atari 800”.

I can’t figure out how to change the the scraper from the Launchbox usage to the EmuMovies usage. I have had issues with a few others platforms having different scraping titles than Launchbox. Any help would be appreciated.

I am a paid member of both Launchbox and EmuMovies.

I took a look and you're right we don't do this lookup as well as we could/should be and have it added to the list of things to address with next version. In the meantime to get this to work you'd need to change the name of the platform to Atari 8-bit on the games you want to scrape, scrape them with EmuMovies, then change them back (if you so desire)

Thanks for the response c-beats.

I tried a fresh install of the Rom set calling the platform “Atari 8-bit” but there was still no way to change the scraper name outside of the prescribed (“Atari 800”) list. I went ahead with the install of the new “Atari 8-bit” platform anyway but it still did not access EmuMovies.

I have had the same trouble with the “Phillips CD-I” platform. All other platforms I have tried (approx 24) access EmuMovies without any issues.

We have code change internally to help with this for next release. I've discovered in writing that though my initial work around wasn't entirely correctly. You need the platform to be named "Atari 8 bit" for it to find it. You also don't need to re-import. Can just bulk edit the games and change their platform to the new value

Also having the same issue with “Sega SG-1000”

This one is corrected with the code changes we have in place as well. We've improved matching for about 10 different systems (I don't have a list handy to list each one unfortunately...)
