wibblemonkey
Sometimes I find LaunchBox to be the most infuriating bit of software I've ever used! It's fantastic, but so many features just seem to work entirely counter-intuitively! I've set up GZDoom as an emulator and added it to the MS-DOS platform. I wanted to set up items for each of my Doom versions/mods and have them grouped, so I created a category called Doom under MS-DOS, in the Platform Category view, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to add or move my game items into the category! Category doesn't show up as an editable field anywhere and when I select it in the Platform Category list and right-click in the main view I don't get a context menu. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I'm not an idiot, I've got 30 years experience in software development and sometimes I can't get this application do even (well, what seems to me to be the ) simplest of tasks! Thx. Lordmonkus
Right click and edit the platform in LB and then go to the Parents tab, in there you can set what categories the platform goes under. You can't change a games category because games themselves don't go into categories, the platforms do.
xevious1974
To group games I usually use Playlist If you want to put your games together with MS-Dos, then create a playlist But if you want to add them apart, you should create a dedicated platform. Call it Doom Msdos and scrape it like Ms-Dos, should work
