whodatdoog Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 (edited) Hi - I'm a n00b and this is my first post - sorry if this is something obvious (I hope so!) - THANK YOU for reading this and any suggestions! PROBLEM: I can't seem to get Atari 2600 ROMs to launch via LaunchBox/BigBox. MY SETUP: LaunchBox 12.14 (Licensed) on Windows 10 (clean install on fresh machine) RetroArch 1.10.3 - installed via LaunchBox import ROM wizard 2 Atari 2600 ROMS (PacMan and Kaboom) - both zipped ISSUE DESCRIPTION: Start LaunchBox Select an Atari 2600 game and click 'play' Observe a quick spinning cursor and then nothing happens TROUBLESHOOTING: Tested with multiple ROMs - same issue Tested different RA cores in LB (Stella & Stella 2014) - Stella=>same issue; Stella 2014=> black screen Tested other RetroArch cores/ROMs in LB (i.e. GameBoy/Tetris, NES/Super Mario) - games load and play OK Tested ROMs with RetroArch directly - games load and play OK Tested ROMs with differnent cores in RetroArch directly (Stella & Stella 2014) - games load and play OK in RA directly Installed LaunchBox/RetroArch fresh on 3 computers - same exact behaviors on all 3 Tested launching from command line - games load and play OK C:\Users\connectit\LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch>retroarch -L C:\Users\connectit\LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch\cores\stella_libretro.dll "C:\Users\connectit\LaunchBox\Games\Atari 2600\Pac-Man.zip" I've been reading through all the threads but haven't found anything yet that solves my specific issue... JoeViking245 Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 The command line you used (and that worked) when troubleshooting, that pointed to a .zip (vs the contents of a zip) is what gave it away. Quote
whodatdoog Posted August 14, 2022 Author Posted August 14, 2022 Ah! I should have thought of that...! Still learning about what all the setting in here do. LOVE the software. Last time I played with Emu/MAME was many years ago ... seems like a LOT has happened since I last checked in. Quote
