SpaceMidget75
Hi, Just seen that as part of the new update it includes new platform clear logos. How do you get them onto your installed system when it does an upgrade, I've looked at the timestamps for the ones I have and they're dated 2020 so it hasn't upgraded them. (If you have to download them manually from the website and copy them to the application platform folders, it's not really part of the application update is it?) C-Beats
All the packaged logos are generated for you in a very specific circumstance. If the application is asking the platform it's clear logo, and one cannot be found in the file structure, we look through the packaged logos. If we have a packaged logo for that platform we save it to file for you and then use that. If you already have a logo for on of the updated platforms then you won't see the new logo. If you haven't imported/created any of the new platforms you will also not see their logos. All the logo's we provide ARE packaged inside of the application though, no additional downloads are needed. Also to note that if you're wanting the new logos to appear in Big Box you will need to clear your image cache after the logo has been updated. SpaceMidget75
Thanks @C-Beats that's a good explanation. As far as updating my existing platforms to the new logos though, what can I do? If I delete them (from here for example: C:\Games\_LaunchBox\Images\Platforms\Nintendo 64\Clear Logo), does it update the next time I install? That's really my main question...how do I get them for an existing install of LB? 🙂
C-Beats
Yeah, Easiest way is probably just remove all the images in \\LaunchBox\Images\Platforms (only do so if you HAVEN'T added any other images, otherwise navigate to each platforms Clear Logo folder and delete IT'S contents). Then go to Big Box Options and navigate to the Image Cache section and refresh the clear logo / wheel image cache. From that point on you should be using the new logos were applicable.
SpaceMidget75
Really sorry @C-Beats but I don't think this is working? I've deleted the whole platform folder, both cache folders and rebuilt. I still get the old images. Just to be sure I've installed 12.15 into a clean location, imported ROMs for Saturn (creating a new Platform) and got this logo. This isn't Dans. C-Beats
Not all logo's have been replaced. Most of the logos that were put into 12.15 were for platforms we didn't have ANY logo for. We will be updating more logo's in future revisions and we have been working with Dan to get versions that will work more universally for all users setups/themes before we change out some of the existing logos with those in his collection.
