PixelJunkie
I’ve used Launchbox/Bigbox for a number of years now. One thing that I’d like to do is have a playlist / list of games that are a subset of my collection be the only games available when I have family over or the kids have friends over (something other than favorites). By default I have too many games across platforms and the choices can be overwhelming. I’d like to be able to identify a subset of the games that I’ve tested and configured and make them available and basically hide the rest when need be. Then be able to effectively open it back up when I’m done. In BigBox, I can set a pin to prevent people from accidentally changing options, etc, but I don’t think this affects what playlists are available/hidden. Does this type of feature exist or what might be the easiest way to accomplish it? I can do something similar with favorites or manually add games to a separate playlist, but it doesn’t hide the other playlists. I also thought about manually moving playlists to a different folder so BigBox doesn’t see them, but to be able to do it via the front end would be great. C-Beats
You have two options here. Use Platform Category to create a category of games that is for this use case, and then place categories/playlists under that root category. The tree would look something like: - Party Mode (Category) - Platform Name 1 (Playlist) - Platform Name 2 (Playlist) - More Platforms.... Another possibility is to just have a different LaunchBox install for that scenario. You can install LaunchBox as many times as you want on any computer you own using the same license file. You could just create a second install built solely for this purpose and launch that Big Box instead of your main collection when you have people over. PixelJunkie
Thanks for the input. I think I’ll try the Platform Category approach first and see how that works. I think I’d prefer that to a separate instance of Launchbox.
