Launchbox Pause, MAME and LEDBlinky Speech

This is a bit of an odd one, but I've tried pretty much every option to troubleshoot.

If I disable Launchbox Pause I can happily use LEDBlinky's controls speech in MAME when I pause, however when using LB Pause, something stops it from working

I've tried disabling/enabling the pause options but the only thing that seems to work is disabling the pause screen all together (Which I don't want)

Anyone else come across this issue and managed to troubleshoot?
