It looks like the original author or Mesen, Sour, is back and giving a rehaul to one of the, if not the, best NES emulators out there, Mesen. https://github.com/SourMesen/Mesen2 It looks like he's also integrating SNES, GameBoy and PC-Engine emulation in Mesen 2 as well (I haven't played with that part of the emulator yet to see how good/bad it is compared to other stand-alone emulator). I've played around a bit with it for NES emulation, and so far it seems work well for what I've tested. However, it appears to be a little buggy with NES HD Packs (for example the Zelda HD pack doesn't work on this version, but does with Mesen/Mesen-X). I'm sure he, or one of the other devs contributing to the project on GitHub, will get around to fixing it. But, in the meantime I'm looking forward to what Sour does with this newer incarnation of the best NES emulator out there. Anyway, I thought I'd post this in case anyone was interested and didn't know of this new incarnation.
