Zooltie
I want to maintain my games folder structures when exporting to Android. Presently, the Export to Android feature places all files in their respective system folder. This would break many of my games (cue files dependant on bin and track files etc) as I use subdirectories for games on some systems and some are mixed. I just want to maintain the existing structure. Is there any workaround to export without losing the existing structure? Thanks!

Android and Windows are very different beasts, from the emulation, operating system, general usage patterns, and everything in-between. So no, unfortunately, I don't think you'll find a way to keep all your folder structures exactly the same between Windows and Android. Your ROM files certainly can be, but not all the media and such. Zooltie
Thanks Jason, I am only talking about the ROM/CUEs etc (I find it easier just to download the media in the Android App to be honest). To give you a bit more detail, I actually don't copy the games files at all as I use the same HDD for Android and Windows LaunchBox. I just need the XML files to point to the to games files that aren't in root platform folders (eg. /Games/Platform/Game_Name/Game.bin). I imagine this could be done by comparing by comparing the Android platform XMLs with the Windows XMLs in Excel or something like that, this I want to avoid. Are you suggesting there is a way to do this without getting fiddling? Thanks! Edited March 13, 2023 by Zooltie
Zooltie
I tried re-scanning the HDD for games hoping that they would be combined (I've checked that option in the import screen) however I'm only getting duplicates. Can't we scan for missing ROM files and remove the application references to them?
Jason Carr
I don't really understand the issue here. You should be able to use the same hard drive between your Windows PC and Android (assuming you're just plugging and unplugging it, and assuming that Android can actually see the drive). You won't be able to share the data XML files between Windows and Android, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're trying to do. You should be able to just import the games on Android and things should ultimately work. Or are you trying to use the Export to Android process? Is that the issue? Zooltie
Hi Jason, I'm using the Export to Android process as I'm ultimately wanting videos linked to my games. As I said before, this results in XMLs that point to the wrong games folders. I am then scanning for games on Android LB to get the correct paths for my games, but this is resulting in duplicates. Do you follow?

Do you follow? If you have an EmuMovies account, you should be able to just import and download the videos directly on Android with no need to use the exporter. Otherwise, yeah, I see the issue.
