flatuswalrus
Hi all, I am posting this here as it is not directly LaunchBox or any emulator specific. I recently purchased a new TV, it is an OLED 55" LG TV. I can no longer play any games due to lag, even the general mouse on the PC lags, just just a tiny bit. I am wishing to fix this annoyance and am not the most knowledgable person when it comes to technology. I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit, an AMD FX(tm)-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz, 16.0 GB of RAM, and a Radeon RX 480 graphics card. I made sure to purchase a 4K HDMI cable to go between the TV and PC as my previous TV was not 4K, just in case that helps. Has anyone got any idea on what might be the issue(s) and what I might be able to do? Thank you in advance. Lordmonkus
When you say lag do you mean bad framerate or input latency ? If you mean framerate then I would check that that the refresh rate is set to 60 or 120 if available and not 30.

I didn't even know if you meant to check the framerate refresh rate on my PC or TV because I am that inept; however, I looked it up, changed it to 60 (on the PC), and wham! Absolute smooth and perfect video and audio now; thank you so much for your sexy knowledge.
Lordmonkus
Yeah running at 30hz will feel bad and with v-sync enabled it will lock everything at 30 fps slowing down 60 fps games to half speed including the sound. If the TV supports 120 that would be even better.
tkssitch
Late to the party here, but if you're using Retroarch to run your emulators, retroarch can auto set your refresh to 30hz inside retroarch. You would need to change that inside retroarch configs, because that is an issue with my TV, I've had multiple times running builds from a Batocera and Launchbox setup. If you're not Using retroarch to run your emulators then I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
