Question: If a database entry has been deleted, how can you tell on your end?

I am thinking about this mainly in regards to if you updated a fresh install and it assigns an entry in the database that later gets deleted for one reason or another, when you do an update at a later date, how will you be able to know?

Will it give a warning message about it or will that game just never get updates to the entries or media again unless you discover it manually?
