fleegerc
I am new to this and want to setup a Big Box emulator on my tv. I want to emulate all the way up to xbox 360 if possible. Are there any prebuilt computers I can buy that would be a nice small package and powerful enough to do this? Thanks for you help.
Kefka2b
There are loads of options and brands out there but it really depends on what you are looking for. Esthetics and form factor of the case? Will you upscale to 4k or just 1080p? How much storage will you need? Xbox360 and PS3 gen emulation requires beefy specs. To give you an idea I can't run red dead redemption on Xenia at 4k 60fps yet, with an i7 13700k and an rtx3070ti. All I can suggest honestly is build it yourself, it's fun, much cheaper, done better and you'll find that having full control on what your pc contains is just better
C-Beats
360 is starting to get into fairly new emulation that doesn't really run well yet. PS2 and under is fairly simple to emulate, anything newer and you WILL need a dedicated GPU to run reliably.
fleegerc
I would like to upscale. And I would build it myself but I have no idea what I’m doing or where to start. Any help or suggestions?
Kefka2b
Decide on a budget you will spend for it, I have an i7 13700k CPU and an rtx3070ti, you probably can get a GPU that is older but if you can get a recent one why not it will allow you to play pc games as well. Don't spend too much on motherboard and RAM I think it's not worth it. 32gigs of DDR4 ram is cheap and plenty. Depending on the case format and CPU wattage you get you will have to decide if you get an air cooler or a water cooler, the i7 13700k is really amazing when it comes to emulating but you can probably get something that runs cooler and just get a smaller air cooler to save a bit and make things easier to build. Also bearing in mind that my pc is plugged in to my 4k TV so I upscale everything to 4k requiring a bit more processor power, everything runs smooth at 60 FPS Wii u switch PS2 and some PS3 xbox360 but mostly those that don't is because the emulator not being advanced enough yet. BigBox is also running super smoothly even with a theme like colorful 4k. PSU I don't know if it's worth spending much for platinum grading etc honestly, just think of all your parts and use a psu wattage calculator to determine how much wattage you need. Kefka2b
And get an M2 nvme drive for windows and Launchbox files, you can store games on another sata SSD or use a traditional HDD if you have a huge collection, I just don't use those anymore they're noisy and just feel old school to me.
