How to get Launchbox to select retroarch MAME 2003 plus core and load game I select?

I set LB up and imported arcade games for MAME then set emulator to retroarch but when I select game in LB nothing happens.  No loading, no errors, nothing.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I have to tell LB to load a certain core and if so how do I do it?

Go to >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit Retroarch. In the bottom right of the main details page make sure you do not have the option to "Extract Archive..." checked. Mame roms needs to stay zipped. 

If that is not the issue make sure in the Associated Platforms tab you have the correct core selected for your Arcade platform.
