I have my setup with 32" 4k as main display and 28" ultra wide stretched screen for marquee.  I have Thirdscreen plug and all works.  When I try play anything with MAME the game starts but marquee is the main display for game.  When exit it goes back.  When I play some console base games etc the screens are fine.  Not sure what I need to change.

In your mame.ini file try setting the value of "screen" to either \\.\DISPLAY1 or \\.\DISPLAY2

mame.iniThis is ini file.  What part do I need to change?

This part:

#
# OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS
#
screen                    auto

First try:

#
# OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS
#
screen                    \\.\DISPLAY1

And if that still doesn't work, try:

#
# OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS
#
screen                    \\.\DISPLAY2

I tried 0,1 and 2.  Also do the same thing.

You say the marquee is [showing] on the main display (the 32").  Is the actual game [somehow?] also showing on the main display?  Or is it on the 28"?

From the Windows Command Prompt, run  mame.exe -v

This will spit out a bunch of stuff in the command window and also start MAME.  In the command prompt window, look for  Video: Monitor

There should be (at least) 2 lines.  What exactly do those lines say?

In your Windows Display Settings, which monitor is set as the main display?   Note, the display number being "1" does not necessarily make it the primary display. Select the larger of the 2 rectangles, then scroll down to see if Make this my main display is checked.

Also, what Windows says is "1" and "2" may not be the same numbers as the -v output shows.
