AOR
I installed the most recent release of Lunchbox this week I think 13.6? I imported a complete merged set I think 0.263 I see they now have 0.270 out and I also want to add in CHD files. I am running windows 11. What is the fastest way to just wipe off all of the Data and start fresh? can I simply uninstall the app then delete the entire lunchbox folder and reinstall and import the newer versions? thank you. Retro808
If you used the Mame Full Set import option all you need to do is rerun it against your .270 roms. No need to delete anything. Just select the Full Set import option and point it to your new rom set.
AOR
Retro808 Thank you. yes I did. I tried some google searching this and someone posted that it would end duplicating things and double the size used on the hard drive is this true? Once I upgrade to a newer romset I read all I need to do is copy and paste the chd files I want into the roms folder is this accurate? If you download a new rom set and remove the old ones then of course nothing doubles. Then you just need to do as I mentioned in the first post to update your LB build to the new rom set. 18 hours ago, AOR said: Once I upgrade to a newer romset I read all I need to do is copy and paste the chd files I want into the roms folder is this accurate? The easiest way to ensure it works is put the CHD inside your main rom folder for Mame. If you follow how Mame wants CHD filed by default then it is no fuss no muss. One caveat is if you had LB set up Mame for you than LB has some custom command line configs to make it less of a need to do this. Personally, I just file them how Mame likes to see them for consistency's sake.
AOR
Thank you. if I simply use the full rom set importer to the 0.270 will it automatically delete the 0.263 romset I am using now or will I manually need to delete 0.263 set will there be a pop up window to delete the older rom set? Retro808
No, the full set importer does not do that, reason is it actually does not import files. It just generates a working list of roms. So you would need to just manually delete the folder with the old roms to get them off your drive storage.
AOR
Thank you I did not put the roms on my internal hard drive and now I see they do not play until I connect up my external drive with the roms on them. AOR
Now that I understand I need to put the roms on my internal hard drive. I want this to be clean and not have clutter when I import the newer rom set. Will this update and or remove the files Lunchbox would have made pointing to the external hard drive? I am not happy with the way I ran the import process and want it to be right thank you
