balduin
I have an up-to-date (v13.17) licensed version and cannot use Big Box after changing some theme options. Big Box freezes, see attached screenshot. I use COLORFUL Dark theme but I also got the same freeze with other themes. I run LaunchBox on a USB-3 stick. C-Beats
This may be related to a bug we found internally that will be corrected in next release. Do you run into the issue if instead of pressing back to return to your default filter you go to the "View Platforms" (or what ever filter you want)? If it's the same thing that navigation method should work where simply pressing back wouldn't. I'd also like to point out the issue found internally is a CPU timing issue so not everyone will experience it. Thankfully my machine did and I was able to use that to get it corrected. PizzaLaser
I believe I am encountering this issue as well. I have been using LB/BB for years with no problems like this, but suddenly in the past day or two, I'm seeing it. The way it presents for me is: 1. Load BB 2. Drop back into options 3. Unlock BB 4. Change theme through the manage themes menu 5. Attempt to edit options and drop back to the platforms view screen 6. BB displays the "please wait" message balduin showed in the above post. 7. BB becomes unresponsive and has to be terminated via Windows task manager. I haven't made any changes to my setup other than switching between themes. Not a huge library either. Hopefully this is the same bug, and will be eliminated in next release.

Update - I changed between a few themes right now and instead of mashing the "B" button on my XBONE controller, I scrolled down to "View Platforms" to get back to the main interface - did not encounter the error. So, I am thinking that whatever I am experiencing, it is this same bug. You mentioned it is a CPU timing issue On 11/19/2024 at 3:08 PM, C-Beats said: the issue found internally is a CPU timing issue For whatever it is worth, my rig is a 5800X3D and a reference AMD 6950XT. Meziochi
Hi guys, im new to launchbox (1-2 weeks). Having this same issue, and just came here to post it. How to achieve the PLEASE WAIT "Freeze" I press ESC to get to options, if I do it again it goes back to my platform views just fine. If I press ESC go to any of the following in the options menu: - OPTIONS - THEME-SPECIFIC OPTIONS - MANAGE THEMES - MANAGE STARTUP THEMES - MANAGE PAUSE THEMES Then ESC and then trying to ESC to my platforms menu (Out of options) it Freezes and just says PLEASE WAIT (Tried different themes, also the default). To unfreeze I press CTRL ESC and then it continues working. Is this an internal bug or is there a way I can fix this? Thanks
C-Beats
I believe this bug is address in the recent beta update. You can go to LaunchBox and opt-in to beta updates to grab it and see if that resolves your issue.
