brilakebay Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) I've had problems loading BB for a few weeks now. I updated to 13.19 this morning, and BB still will not load. I've tried custom and automatic backups but BB will not open. All I get is BB banner in the middle of the screen. Any ideas how to proceed? I have 22,000 games and media for a couple of thousand, so I really don't want to start over from scratch!? Help! Edited February 13 by brilakebay Quote
AstroBob Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Hi there, Thanks for the report here, we'll do our best to get you sorted. Can you confirm are you having any issues opening the LaunchBox application, or is it just Big Box that won't load. Can you also share a screenshot of your LaunchBox\Plugins directory? Cheers, 1 Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 Yes. just BB. Launchbox has loaded fine' Quote
AstroBob Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Thanks, so it don't think this is related to the update or plugins given that you've been having these issues previously, and it only affects Big Box. To rule out an user environment issues, please try the following: - Go to your LaunchBox\Updates folder where you'll find the 13.19 installer - Run that installer, and install a new instance of LaunchBox to a location outside of your current location (this is important, you want to install to a different location to your main build) - Once complete, copy your license to this new build and try opening Big Box If the issue persists on this new build, then it indicates there is something specific to your system that is causing this. If not though, it indicates there is something within your specific LaunchBox build. Let me know and we can narrow it down further Cheers, Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 I repo0sted new plugins screenshot. Did you see it? Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 Thank you. I tried what you instructed, and BB loaded on the remote 13.19. now what? Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 On the left is the plugins folder from the new 13.19 you had me build. on the right is from my full build. Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 (edited) My old build has a "cue2chd" folder in my launchbox/plugins folder. My new test build you had me create does not have the "cue2chd" folder. I'm tempted to try removing that folder from my existing full build, but will wait until I hear back from you? Edited February 13 by brilakebay Quote
brilakebay Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 0The cue2chd folder is a plugin I added a while back. I haven't used this utility and don't really need it. Quote
AstroBob Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Thanks for the updates there. So because Big Box is able to load with a fresh install, it indicates there is something specific to your primary LaunchBox build, so we can narrow it down from there. Regarding plugins and the cue2chd one, you can certainly try removing it from your current build but I don't think that is the cause, since otherwise you'd see issues in LaunchBox as well. The next thing I'd like to test are Big Box themes, do you know what theme you are using in Big Box? Are you able to navigate to Big Box's system settings, in order to try changing the theme back to the default theme? Or does it crash before you're able to reach that point? Quote
brilakebay Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Thank you. No, I can't open BB at all. so I can't get to sett0ings. Quote
AstroBob Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Okay, what you can try is navigate to LaunchBox\Themes, and then temporarily remove any custom theme that is not `Default` or `Old Default`, then reload LaunchBox. Please let me know if that enabled you to start Big Box Quote
brilakebay Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Thanks. My launchbox themes folder only has default, old default, and readme in it. Quote
