jestermgee Posted Monday at 11:59 PM Posted Monday at 11:59 PM I cannot find a forum for this so will try my luck here. So I have the lite version of ExoDos installed, setup in LB and working just fine however I have noted that there are several different emulator versions in the emulator folder for different games. The main version most games are using in the root folder is 0.73 which while it works fine in games I ahve tested, i ahve hit an issue where the CTRL+F1 keys are not launching the keymapper (just causing the window to shrink and become unresponsive) to setup a joystick in games. An example where I could not get the joystick setup for a game is Bio Menace. Some other games launch in a much more recent version, one of the stable releases 0.84+, an example would be Commander Keen 1 and this allows me to press CTRL + F1 and do the ,mapping without issue. I have done a backup and a test of replacing the core version of DosBox with an updated version and this appears to work just fine and now allows the keymapper to display. I assume the reason certain versions are used for certain games is due to specific environment needs and I can see the text file that holds which version is launched for which game. Most games use the core version of 0.73 so seems beneficial to have this updated to I can use the keymapper but is there any issue around this, likely I may hit some games I cannot play but honestly, i'd just figure those out on a 1:1 basis if needed. Just wondered if anyone has updated that core dosbox version themselves. Quote
Jakatsu Posted Tuesday at 02:27 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:27 AM I haven't, but sounds like you haven't run into problems yet so I'd be interested in trying the same myself, since I'm also using exoDOS Lite. Quote
CriticalCid Posted Tuesday at 12:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:56 PM This is a very specific eXoDOS question and not exactly LaunchBox related. I doubt that any of us here can help you with that, unfortunately. You should try the eXoDOS Discord and ask your question there. The guys over there should be able to give you a proper answer to your question: https://discord.gg/37FYaUZ Quote
