Double controller inputs in Big Box

Whenever I press the dpad up or down while in a BigBox menu, it moves two positions for every one press. In order to only move one step, I have to temporarily switch to the keyboard, which works fine. This only happens in Big Box, not in Launchbox, Steam UI or any games. I have tried deleting some of my configuration xml files in the data folder in an attempt to reset back to default settings, but this did not help. I also have experienced this on several different controllers, including an Xbox Elite 2 controller.

Hi there,

Are you running Steam at the same time as Big Box. We've seen scenario's where Steam applies a Desktop mapping to controllers by default, which it's steams own way of trying to navigate interfaces with a controller. 

Any easy way to test this is close down steam, if Big Box returns to single inputs then you know that's your issue. Desktop controller profiles can be removed on Steam

Thank you. Switching Steam from Big Picture Mode to standard desktop mode also fixed the issue. I'll have to look further into removing desktop controller profiles and whether that would affect Big Picture Mode operation or not. I know I should probably choose Big Box or Steam's Big Picture Mode and not run both simultaneously
