dpc5555 Posted Monday at 05:35 AM Posted Monday at 05:35 AM Two questions: How do you change the banner/marquee image for a game (see screenshot below). It used to be that I could swap it by changing the image type to "Arcade-Marquee", but that no longer appears to be working. Now, it is grabbing screenshots even when I have an image set as Arcade-Marquee. Is there a setting somewhere? Or is it theme dependent? Second question, in the default theme, is there a way to remove the frosted effect that covers that marquee/banner image, or is that hard coded in the theme? I know some other themes do not have that, but I really like the default skin. Thanks in advance for the help! Quote

The Default Theme has "built-in" fallback images that it looks for. Steam Screenshot Epic Games Screenshot GOG Screenshot Amazon Screenshot Origin Screenshot Backgrounds Screenshot - Gameplay You can change (add or remove or re-prioritize) the Background Image Priorities under Tool - Options. (This is where you might add Arcade-Marquees). 6 hours ago, dpc5555 said: Second question, in the default theme, is there a way to remove the frosted effect that covers that marquee/banner image, or is that hard coded in the theme? I know some other themes do not have that, but I really like the default skin. It's hard coded into the theme. But has an easy work-around. Make a copy of the \LaunchBox\LBThemes\Default\ folder In your "copied" folder, open the file \Views\GameDetailsView.xaml with any text editor Look for <!-- TOP BORDER OVERLAY --> Delete it and the next line Save and close Open LaunchBox Set the Theme to-use to the "copied" folder Theme Name (which may be "Default - Copy") Instead of editing that file, you might be able just delete the image file \LaunchBox\LBThemes\Default - Copy\Images\Overlay.png. I don't know if simply deleting image file will throw an error or not. But editing the xaml will for sure work. Regardless, you will need to make a copy of the Themes folder in order to make any changes or file deletions. Quote
dpc5555 Posted Monday at 01:19 PM Author Posted Monday at 01:19 PM (edited) Thanks so much! I was hoping that there was an option for controlling the background image rather than having to manually change it to a different value for each game. And ditto for the overlay - I made a copy of the theme folder with the overlay file deleted and renamed it, changed my theme to that, and it worked. I appreciate the help! EDIT: Actually, I spoke too soon. It looks like the image issue remains. I have it set in Options>Background Priority to choose either Arcade-Marquee or Fanart - Background. This works fine for all of my older games, but anything new that I add is disregarding the settings and choosing screenshots, even though that option is not checked at all in Options. dpc5555 Posted Monday at 04:50 PM Author Posted Monday at 04:50 PM I figured this out. In case anyone else runs into this, the issue with the background image pulling screenshots rather than the selections from "Background Priority" in Options was related to the theme, in this case the default theme. In the GameDetailsView.xaml that JoeViking245 mentioned above, there is an line under "Top Border Image & All Fallbacks" that specifies that image type for the top image. It appears to take priority over what is in the Background Priority hierarchy in Options. I changed that to my designated image types and now everything works correctly. 1 Quote
