neosean99 Posted yesterday at 04:37 AM Posted yesterday at 04:37 AM (edited) Alright guys... I need help. I have never had an issue editing my media in Launchbox. A few versions back I had tested out using dual screen with a marquee. It worked great, but some of the art was not what I wanted as the default. When going in to edit these entries, I found I was unable to remove certain images from a platform. Upon reading further I see a Media Manager has been added. Tonight I was trying to tinker around with it. I had removed the legacy pack (your backup from when Media Manager was created) in order to attempt to remove what images I did not want "locked" to the platform not knowing it would remove all the artwork I had already added into platforms. Now I am completely missing all of my personally made clear logos. Why on earth... The media manager doesn't let you edit jack! Why can I not turn this feature off so I am in control of my media again?! PLEASE TELL ME ALL OF MY CUSTOM MADE ART IS NOT LOST!!! And further more... If I did lose it by uninstalling that pack in attempt to edit my platforms, why is the art not in my trash bin to restore?! PLEASE TELL ME I DIDN'T LOSE IT ALL!!! I do not wish to spend all that time again... Yes I probably should have backed up, but this has never been a thing... At least without a notice saying it is going to fully remove something. neosean99 Posted yesterday at 04:49 AM Author Posted yesterday at 04:49 AM (edited) Ok... I was able to track them down. It didn't actually remove them from Platform > Clear Logos. However, even restoring a backup does not bring my logos back in place. Can someone please explain to me how to properly use this new media system so this does not happen again, or possibly turn this feature off? Again, previously I was able to edit anything I wanted. At first it would let me remove, and then it would automatically restore whatever it was that I removed. I guess I fully don't understand what is occurring here. My guess is that it created it's own pack, and if you try to edit anything it just auto restores? Yeah... that's no good. Is the only way to get my stuff back the way I had it is by manually adding them again? Smh... At least my art is not gone. That was what actually got me upset. I feel this was much easier when I could just add art to the platform itself or the folder and move on with my day. Did autopopulate from the folder get disabled too? It used to be that anything in the folder would automatically be added to said platform. My logos are still in those folders so what gives? I would also like to note the pack stating "if you no longer need this, feel free to uninstall" with no note saying your stuff will be completely removed from all platforms. Obviously I do not like this change much. Edited yesterday at 05:06 AM by neosean99 Quote

neosean99 Posted yesterday at 06:39 PM Author Posted yesterday at 06:39 PM (edited) C-Beats I appreciate it! Usually I don't have to play catch up, see new features, and am able to figure it out. This one got me. I remember seeing it come down the pipe, but as I said I saw I couldn't remove something, and figured I'd tinker later. Whelp... Last night I guess I found out. I figured it was due to not knowing how the new media manager worked. I will read through, and hopefully figure out the issue I have. I still don't care for this automated process without a way to turn it off. Edited yesterday at 06:42 PM by neosean99 Quote

There is no "automated" process other than copying files from old location to the new one so it just seemingly worked without manually messing with it so not entirely sure what part of this is the part you find troublesome outside of just getting used to using the new location. If you don't care about media packs and always want to use the same image fairly certain you just add an override logo to the platform/category/playlist via the Edit window. Quote
