Atari 5200 and retroarch

I am trying to start Atari 5200 roms in Retroarch through Launchbox.  I get the error message:  sorry this program needs a real atari/os.

I have 5200.rom in the system folder.  Not sure what else I need.

Just wondering, are you using the a5200 core in Retroarch? If so, that should load up Atari 5200 roms with less issues than the atari800 core. Otherwise, you may have an invalid bios file

I'm using the a5200 core with the 5200.rom file.

Did u check inside Retroarch

F1 -> Information
or Main Menu -> Information

Then select Core : Atari - 5200

It should match what it says at the documentation page

I am also running the 5200 core, and am using a52 roms...unzipped.
I would try checking those...and also unzipping your roms and try that straight from Retroarch. (to exclude any misconfiguration from within Launchbox)

Mine looks the same, except before the core name it has (!).  It does say present, required.

Exclamation Mark/Other Symbol (!): The BIOS file is missing, misnamed, or has the wrong MD5 hash (incorrect version)

I messaged u. Seems like the bios u have is not correct and u need to update it.
After that I am positive it will work.
