Launchbox VPX Issue.

Hello all. Does anyone here use Launchbox as a front end for your VPX tables? If so, have you ever had pup pack loading issues? I've been using LB as my front end for all of my vpin tables, VPX and Future Pinball since 2022 with no problems, but now all of a sudden, when I launch the Blizzard Of Oz VPX table, the table, the pup backglass frame and the pup dmd loads fine, but the pup pack backglass videos do not. However, if I launch the table outside of LB, the pup works fine. I've tried deleting and re-adding the table in LB and I have -minimize -exit and -play in the emulation command line parameters, but no luck. Anyone have any ideas why it's doing this? It's just this table and pup and I haven't made any changes to Launchbox and no new Launchbox updates.

What version of LaunchBox are you using?

Try turning off Startup Screens for VPX (settings in LaunchBox) and see if that make a difference.

Thank you for the reply. I'm on 13.27 and I don't use any start up screens. The pup pack was loading fine until out if the blue, it stopped loading when ran from launch box.

I ran a test on 13.27 and am seeing what you're seeing. Rather... not seeing.
I then tried 13.26 and same thing.
I didn't have 13.25 or 13.24 setup on my test PC.
Tried on 13.23 and [still] same thing.

(...Working on a process of elimination...)

I then tried 13.28-beta-3 and it worked, no issue.

But.... LaunchBox should have no effect on how the pup videos load.  That's all I know about that.

I even tried an older version of the table (v1.0.2) and no luck on 13.27.  But 1.0.2 did work on 13.28-beta.

Not sure why it would work on 13.28-beta and not 13.27, 13.26, 13.23.  Even more perplexing, why it was working for you before, and not now. 

 

That all said, I'm out of ideas.

I just opened and closed it 5 times without issue.  I do notice it takes a few seconds longer, after the frame loads for the video to appear behind it.

My knowledge on pup packs is pretty limited. Hopefully someone who's more familiar with them can chime in with an idea.

Is this the only table with a pup pack having issues?
Is your Pup Player current?

My last-ditch effort would be to re-download the table/music/pup-pack and completely replace your existing files (basically to ensure a fresh, clean start-from-scratch).  Which is what I'm working with that seems to work.  And the last of the straws for me to grasp at is to make sure your video drivers are updated.  A stretch? Maybe. But not purposefully trying to stretch "the short straw".
