Unwanted 'Searching for roms" process going forever

What is this? Clicking X doesn't stop it. I cannot do any sort of importing and other things due to this. This starts the moment the app launches.

It's for the Automated Imports feature.  If your collection is pretty well established, you can probably go ahead and disable it.

This process has been reworked in the current beta releases for 13.28.

My guess is the mentioned "Improvement" fixes that.

For new (fresh) installs, it's turned on by default.  If you've only ever 'updated' since [just before] its introduction in v13.12, it should have been off.

yeah it was from an established install fully loaded. It was many months since i launched it though.
