hydef Posted Thursday at 01:45 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:45 PM (edited) Quick note: I'll fix the thumbnail issue later. I'm currently linking the direct images and I know that's not the best way to do things but it's difficult for me. I made these for myself because there's 10,000 versions of each on google and often not a single good one. PAL scans are hard to come by. And if you have scans you can only clean them up so much before you may as well use original elements. I wanted clean, high quality with consistent logos and other small details. I don't own the majority of these games any more or even care about the games themselves, I only have some of these Dreamcast games at hand to compare with. I used the Maddog 300dpi scans as a base for those restorations with Topaz Photo doing a lot of the upscaling (using the Wonder 1 mode because it's very smooth). Later on I used either grok or chatgpt for other elements or small text if needed and then Topaz again. And lots of Photoshop. If I make any more, I'll edit them into the first thread but there probably won't be loads more, I only did the ones I like the look of, or had as a kid, or have nostalgia for, basically. Thanks to EASTWOOD2002 for their Jet Set Radio scan. Edited 19 hours ago by hydef 1 Quote
EASTWOOD2002 Posted Friday at 03:38 PM Posted Friday at 03:38 PM Thanks for the call out @hydef...your reconstructions are spot on! May (or may not) be of any use to you if you do get the urge to add to the EU Dreamcast pics, but I pulled together a full set below (albeit before the likes of Topaz / Grok where around - so more "tidied up scans" than crisp). https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/4431-dreamcast-fronts-backs-logos-spines/ Quote

I hadn't looked around the forum too much but that's a nice resource. You've collected a lot of good work there. I moved on to a couple of NES games that I wanted to do for now and if something takes my fancy I might do it Quote
hydef Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago There was a lack of quality PAL Sega Saturn fronts and no one ever seemed to get the side logo right (not even Sega because it always seems to be printed poorly) so I made a new version from scratch. Guardian Heroes seemed to be printed poorly as well so I remade it from individual elements. I'll probably go back and clean up the logo a little more later. I completely remade Super Mario Bros 2 from the previous version. 2 Quote

(good to see the left hand SEGA PAL logo all cleaned up) Quote
hydef Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Thanks! I'm always checking for stuff like that and it's another I completely remade after doing it so I must have forgotten the 2nd time but I'm glad you like 'em. As always, I can't be sure of colours, especially for things I don't have Quote
