Starting with a fresh install, I wanted to keep my games and saves in a easy location for backup.

Could I just put a "Games" and "Saves" folder in the launchbox install folder?

Thanks!

In you enable Automated Imports (Tools < Options < General < Automated Imports), LaunchBox will create platform folders under ../LaunchBox/Games/[platform_name]/ for you to place your games.

You can read more about Automated ROMs imports here:  Automated ROM Imports - LaunchBox

When you enable Save Management (Tools < Options < General < Save Management) and create backups from there, LaunchBox will create save folders under ../LaunchBox/Saves/ for you.

You can read more about Saves here: Managing Save Games and States - LaunchBox

So yes. Those would be excellent locations to place those. ;)

Thank you!

Speaking of Save Management, am I able to have saves in there for emulators that aren't compatible with Save Management yet? I wanted to consolidate my save files into one central location.

I never use them, so don't know for sure.  But... ummm.... if they aren't compatible (not on the supported list), I'm inclined to say no. Because they're "not supported". ;)

You can however put in a Feature Request to add more (specific?) supported emulators [if there isn't one there already].

I mostly just wanted to be sure that it wouldn't conflict with anything. Didn't want LB to throw up an error or something for having save files it doesn't recognize when I was using the folder for all my saves from various emulators.

Thanks again!
